Mercedes C450 AMG Sport Planned Below C63 AMG
Mercedes is planning a more performance oriented version of its C-Class sedan that will slot between the C400 and C63 AMG.
The new C450 AMG Sport will arrive in Europe for the 2015 model year and will use the same twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 as the C400, but with a power boost of about 34 hp to 367 hp compared. AutoCar reports that Mercedes will sell it as both a rear- and all-wheel drive model compared to the rear-drive-only C63.
It still won’t be a fully-fledged AMG product, but Mercedes’ performance brand gave input in developing the vehicle. An AutoGuide.com source confirmed the report. It is unlikely that the C450 AMG Sport model will arrive as early in North America. Instead, it will probably follow a year behind the European release.
