Would you believe this car started its life as a Lamborghini Gallardo?

The Italian exotic automaker has teamed up with design and coachbuilder Zagato to create the one-off 5-95 for a special customer. Based on the Lamborghini Gallardo, the 5-95 will be displayed at this weekend’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este before heading into the hands of Albert Spiess, the man who commissioned the project.

Spiess is one of the most significant Lamborghini collectors in the world. Zagato overhauled the Gallardo bumper to bumper, revising the entire exterior of the car. At first glance, it’s hard to even tell that the 5-95 rolled off the production line as a Gallardo.
