With the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 now a reality, the British automaker is considering an even lighter model.

The Jaguar F-Type Project 7, which debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, is the lightest F-Type model to date weighing about 175 lbs less than the standard F-Type Roadster. According to Paul Newson, director of Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, the British automaker wants an even lighter F-Type that would borrow technology from the C-X75 concept.

Though the company hasn’t begun working on such a model, Newson hinted that “smaller engines that start from a lower point,” would certainly help free up even more weight in the F-Type. In the C-X75 concept, a 1.6-liter supercharged and turbocharged engine was used and that same technology could end up in an F-Type variant. In concept form, that engine was good for around 500 hp.
