Riding on a new front-wheel drive platform, the next Countryman has been spotted for the first time with more space and a roomier appearance in hopes of competing with other compact crossovers in the market. As with other new MINI models, expect the new Countryman’s styling to be more evolutionary than revolutionary.

In addition, the British automaker will produce the next Countryman in Oxford as well as a new plant in the Netherlands rather than in Austria and Magna Steyr where the current Countryman and Paceman are being built. Expect the next-gen Countryman to make its debut in 2016.
