The Fiat 500X will expand its lineup with a high-performance, sportier Abarth model.

According to the Italian automaker’s head of European design, Roberto Giolito, the 500X will get an Abarth variant with more visible cues to separate it from the standard model. “I can say today this is a good item,” said Giolito in an interview with CarAdvice. “It’s absolutely perfect in terms of drivability, control. The driving seat is perfect measured to control the car. So the Abarth would be perfect.”

Unfortunately it appears that the 500X Abarth is still in its early stages of planning as Giolito didn’t elaborate on technical details on what the 500X Abarth would entail. But the 500X will surely get more aesthetic modifications as opposed to the current 500 and 500 Abarth models, which differ slightly in styling.
