The Mercedes C-Class lineup is growing for the 2016 model year, adding more powertrain options for buyers to choose from.

Entering a new generation for the 2015 model year, Mercedes only offered the C-Class in two variants: C300 4MATIC and C400 4MATIC. For 2016, the C400 will be replaced by the sportier C450 AMG 4MATIC, while those looking for fuel efficiency can opt for either the C300d diesel or the C350e plug-in hybrid. Staying in the lineup will be the base model C300 with a starting price of $39,875 including destination. The base model C300 is now available with rear-wheel drive as standard with 4MATIC all-wheel drive costing $2,000 additional. The C300 will continue to be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 241 hp.
