2016 Nissan Murano, Maxima Recalled for Brake Issue

Nissan is calling back 12,616 units of the 2016 Maxima sedan and Murano crossover over an issue with the brakes.

In cars fit with both an antilock braking system and vehicle dynamic control, an O-ring on the ABS actuator may be damaged, causing a brake fluid leak. A lack of fluid would cause the stopping distance of the vehicle to lengthen, increasing the risk of a crash.

Nissan says that it will inspect and replace the entire ABS actuator free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in early June, 2016.
