Lamborghini Urus Spied Testing For the First Time
The fabled Lamborghini Urus has been confirmed and spy photographers have caught a pre-production model testing in Norway.
Lamborghini has been doing a really good job of hiding its upcoming SUV from prying eyes, and this is the first time it has been caught on public roads.
The pictures were submitted by a fan and not a professional spy photographer, so there were only two available. Still, it’s plain to see that the Urus looks a lot like the concept that first debuted in 2012, except slightly toned down. All sharp lines and wicked angles, the Urus is true to Lamborghini’s design aesthetic, even though the rear end does look somewhat ungainly.
Lamborghini will reportedly begin production on the Urus in April of 2017, so it should hit showrooms in early 2018. When it does, it will be built on the same platform as the Audi Q7 and will initially come with 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 and eventually with a hybrid powertrain. The Urus will be Lamborghini’s first ever hybrid model.
An official debut hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it has been rumored that the SUV could show up at the Geneva Motor Show, where Lamborghini will also debut the Huracan Performante.
