Rezvani Beast Alpha X Black Bird Makes 700HP From a 2.5L Four Cylinder

California-based custom vehicle maker Rezvani has debuted another wild-looking vehicle, the new Beast Alpha X Black Bird.

The Beast Alpha X Black Bird is based on the Rezvani Beast, which is itself based on the Ariel Atom. It takes performance a bit more seriously than the Beast (yes, that’s possible), receiving power from a 700 horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with forged pistons, rods, cams and valve springs and a Cosworth ECU. Tipping the scales at 2,150 lbs, the Black Bird will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.9s, although Rezvani didn’t share an estimated top speed. The standard transmission is a six-speed manual, but a sequential box is available too.

At a glance, you wouldn’t be blamed for mistaking the Beast Alpha X Black Bird for the standard Beast Alpha X Rezvani showed off last year. The Black Bird is set apart by its lime green accents and model specific 18-inch wheels, however. It also gets optional carbon ceramic brakes, which aren’t offered on lesser Beast models. It does retain the insanely cool ‘SideWinder’ doors, however, along with a removable hardtop roof.

If you’ve ever wanted a 700hp Lotus or Caterham with a 1-year, unlimited mile warranty, the Beast Alpha X Black Bird is the car for you. Unfortunately, getting one in your driveway will cost you $225,000. For that much money, we’d probably be looking at supercars with a bit more pedigree than something called a ‘Beast Alpha X Black Bird’, but to each their own.

One year warranty on a 700 hp 4 cylinder engine...yeah, that makes sense.

If I could afford to buy it I wouldn't have to worry about the how long the four cylinder engine would last. I'd just buy one and hang it on a wall built especially for it. It looks that cool. I love it.
