Jaguar I-Pace Races a Tesla Model X 100D, But Where's the Performance Version?

The Jaguar I-Pace made its debut yesterday, helping the British brand beating much of its competition to the electric vehicle punch.

Almost immediately, Jaguar released a video demonstrating how the new 395 hp I-Pace can accelerate quicker than both a Tesla Model X 75D and Model X 100D. Jaguar claims the I-Pace can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.5s, which was enough to beat both the Teslas in a short drag race. It should be noted that the Model X isn’t the P100D performance model, which can do 0-60 mph in 2.9s with the Ludicrous launch mode activated.

This video is a bit cheesy in its production and has some unnecessary embellishment from those on screen, but it’s a decent demonstration of the new I-Pace’s speed, and seems to be genuine despite it being an in-house Jaguar production. We just have one question, Jaguar. When will we see a performance version of the I-Pace that can dethrone the Model X P100D?
