The new Lexus ES will be presented to the public for the first time at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show later this month, and Lexus has already shown us its huge, gaping grille in a teaser image.

Not surprisingly, the new ES will follow in the footsteps of every other new Lexus and offer an even bigger and more dramatic version of Lexus’ already sizable spindle grille. In the press release, the Japanese automaker stayed pretty slim on the details, only saying the new ES “aims to radically transform the driving experience for luxury consumers all over the world.”

The new ES will ride on Toyota’s New Global Architecture and will be offered in hybrid form from launch. Not much is known about the powertrains, but we’re expecting both Toyota’s 3.5-liter V6 to appear, along with its 2.0-liter turbo. The hybrid could potentially tap the GS 450h’s powertrain, which uses a 3.5-liter V6 and a single electric motor to produce 338 hp.

A leaked image of the new ES surfaced this week, revealing more of its grille and its LED headlights.

We should learn more about this Japanese executive sedan in the weeks leading up to its debut on April 25th, so stay tuned.
