Roughly 112,000 2016-2018 model year Chevrolet Cruze LS cars have been recalled due to a fire risk.

Gasoline Cruze LS models equipped with a tire inflator kit instead of a spare tire could pose a fire risk in the event of a rear-impact or rollover crash. General Motors says the vehicle’s gas tank may leak in these instances as the vapor pressure sensors may impact the rear floor panels.

GM says it will inspect affected vehicles and install a special lock ring on the gas tank to ensure the pressure sensors no longer press against the floor in the event of a crash. It’s not clear when the recall campaign may begin, or if any injuries have been related to the problem.

Owners may contact the Chevrolet customer service line at 1-800-222-1020. The reference number for this recall is 18159.

So how is a tire inflator kit connected to the gas tank? Shouldnt this be ALL of the models being recalled?
