Range Rover Evoque Named 2012 Women's World Car of the Year

The voting is in and the 2012 Women’s World Car of the Year is the Range Rover Evoque. The Evoque took home top honors after women motoring writers from 12 different countries chimed in with their votes.

The Evoque was not only the top winner for Car of the Year, it was also voted as the top luxury car by women. In the luxury segment, the Jaguar XJ took home second, while the Audi A6 placed third. As for the overall votes, the BMW 3-Series came in second behind the Evoque while the Audi Q3 finished third.

The BMW 3-Series was voted top for family car, while the Audi Q3 was second in that class. Ranked third was a surprising Ford Focus. As for sports cars, the Porsche 911 ranked highest among the ladies while the Jaguar XKR and Mercedes-Benz SLK finished second and third, respectively.

Lastly, the women voted on the best economy car, where the Honda Civic won out. The Volkswagen Up! came in second while the Ford Fiesta was third in the voting.
