Mercedes’ upcoming AMG GT sports car is going green… sort of.

AutoGuide.com’s spies caught this prototype strolling around Barcelona with an eye-catching neon green and black camouflage wrapping.

With the SLS now out of production, the dream-team at Mercedes-AMG are looking to work their magic again with a smaller and hopefully more affordable sports car that is expected to compete more directly with the Porsche 911.

Expect a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to sit under the elongated hood of this AMG GT with something in the neighborhood of 600 HP. That engine will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, but it is still unclear whether this sports car will use a traditional rear-wheel drive layout, or an all-wheel drive setup like recent AMG S 4Matic Models.

With an aluminum structure, the upcoming car could slide in under 3,300 pounds. The official debut is expected to take place next October during the Paris Motor Show.
