We finally have our first look at the next-generation Audi A4.

Originally scheduled to make its debut this year, the German automaker decided to delay the new sedan which will now be unveiled sometime later next year, likely at the Frankfurt Motor Show. AutoGuide.com‘s spy photographers caught the 2016 Audi A4 hot weather testing in southern Europe and though the vehicle is heavily camouflaged, we can see that the A4’s design will be more evolutionary than revolutionary.

Though it’s hard to tell from the photos, it appears that the Audi A4 will get a longer wheelbase with shorter overhangs to offer more interior space for passengers. The grille looks like it will be stylistically similar to the new TT, while the side mirrors have been moved and appear to be thinner. Expect the 2016 Audi A4 to be 175 to 220 lbs lighter than the current model thanks to its new platform.
