After photos of the new 2016 Camaro leaked this morning, engine specifications have also made their way out.

According to Jalopnik, the new 2016 Chevy Camaro will have three different powerplant choices. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 270-hp while the middle option will be the familiar 3.6-liter V6 with 330 hp. At the top of the range will be a 6.2-liter V8 that makes 440 hp.

The Ford Mustang offers its new EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the middle option in its three-engine range, unlike the Camaro which will offer its turbo as the base motor. Compared to the current Camaro, the 3.6-liter V6 gets a 10 hp boost while the V8-option gets a 14 hp improvement.

200 lbs. of weight loss is a step in the right direction. And positioning the 4-cylinder turbo as the base engine is also a wise move.

I agree. And that 2.0T will be a tuner's dream too, for the lowest price! It'll be a good choice for people wanting to tune with basic bolt-ons.
