The new Mercedes-Benz CLS is set to make its worldwide premiere at the 2017 L.A. Auto Show later this month.

The German automaker has released the first official teaser for its next four-door coupe, which spy photographers have caught testing numerous times over the past few months. But the prototype seen testing has kept its front end camouflaged, keeping the design a secret. The teaser Mercedes has released however, gives us a glimpse at the direction it has chosen for the next CLS, which is consistent with other recent Mercedes models.

Overall, the styling changes are more evolutionary than revolutionary for the new CLS with one of the biggest changes being the removal of its pronounced hip. It will overall have a smoother profile than the current model with less body lines for a cleaner design.

Expect to see plenty of high-tech features inside the cabin, borrowed from the new E-Class. But the biggest change is what lies underneath the sheetmetal, with the MRA platform underpinning the CLS.

We’ll learn more once the model makes its debut at the L.A. Auto Show on November 29, but there should be a few more teasers coming our way in the coming weeks.
