Ford is considering its edgiest Edge for inclusion in the brand’s high-performance driving school.

With the new Fiesta ST destined to definitely not come to America, FoMoCo has a vacancy its Ford Performance Driving School based out of the Utah Motorsports Campus, in Grantsville, Utah–a vacancy the company is considering filling with the new for 2019 Edge ST.

We reached out to North American Product Communications manager, Mike Levine, to ask if Ford would be throwing in a free day of high-performance driver training at the Driver’s Academy as it does with the purchase of other ST vehicles.

We are looking at options to include Edge ST in the Ford Performance Driving School.

While somewhat surprising, the answer is totally logical in the grand scheme of continuity considering Ford’s executive vice president of Product Development and Purchasing, Hau Thai-Tang, said the “Edge ST puts a new animal on the road” before adding that it’s “a performance SUV with a track mentality.”

Ford has yet to announce pricing or fuel economy figures for the vehicle. You can look for the Edge ST to begin trickling into showrooms later this year.

Where's the "LOL" here? Why wouldn't Ford populate a school intent on making better drivers with all of the vehicles in their high-end performance lineup. Not everyone is getting a GT350 you know. Slow news day indeed.
