The Challenger Hellcat Getting is Even More Hellish for 2019

Fiat Chrysler has teased the updated 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat and is promising some mean-looking new additions to the mainstay muscle coupe.

Among the changes made to the Challenger Hellcat for 2019 will be a new hood with twin air intake scoops, which are a throwback to past Mopar performance cars. FCA is staying pretty slim on details apart from this new hood, so it’s hard to say what other changes could be in store. Like most mild updates, though, were expecting minor styling revisions and perhaps some new options such as different wheels and new exterior and interior colors.

The 2019 model year Challenger could also see the introduction of the rumored Drag Pak model, which will offer equipment from the limited-edition Demon, such as the Air Grabber hood and sticky drag-spec tires, without the increase in hp from 707 to 808 (840 hp if the Demon’s running on race gas).

The arrival of the Drag Pak is essentially an educated guess at this point, but it does make sense, as Challenger Hellcats have been spotted testing with a weird mix of Hellcat and Demon parts on them. Such a product would also allow FCA to fully monetize all the special equipment it developed for the Demon – which was limited to just 3,300 units for the entire world.

Dodge says it will share full details on the 2019 Challenger Hellcat this summer. And with the days now getting longer and the sun shining brighter, that means we won’t have to wait very long to know more.
