Spy photographers have caught what appears to be a Dodge Challenger Hellcat Drag Pack prototype outside SRT headquarters.

Rumors appeared earlier this year that the Challenger Hellcat would be getting a Drag Pack, featuring components from the Demon. The option is expected to arrive in time for the 2019 model and this prototype basically shows what it will entail. Sporting the Air Grabber hood from the Demon, the Hellcat Drag Pack won’t incorporate the widebody fenders, but reports suggest it will have about 75 percent of the content offered on the Demon. More importantly, power output is expected to increase from 707 horsepower to around 725 hp.

Expect the Drag Pack to feature other Demon hardware such as the liquid-to-air charge air cooler chiller system, and even possibly the Torque Reserve function and TransBrake. As we reported earlier, a “Drag Mode” option in the UConnect system and a taller final drive ratio are also expected.

A debut should still be on schedule before the end of the year.
