New photos of the 2016 Toyota Prius have shown up on Facebook.

Recently spy photographers caught the new Toyota Prius sitting pretty for what appeared to be its official photo shoot for marketing and promotional materials, but those photos were captured from afar. Now, we get to see the radical, more aggressive Prius look up close, which is heavily inspired by the Mirai hydrogen fuel cell car. Details on the 2016 Toyota Prius hybrid powertrain have not yet been revealed, but expect to hear more when the next-gen hybrid makes its official debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show in October.

Fuel economy for the new Prius is rumored to be around 54-mpg combined, thanks to the model’s new platform that is expected to help shave some weight off the body. The model has been spied testing camouflaged in the U.S. in the past few months.

The next-generation Prius was actually delayed because Toyota’s CEO wasn’t pleased with its first design, demanding something more aggressive for the model. Do expect to see the 2016 Toyota Prius make its debut in the U.S. at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

Actually, in think it looks much better than the MK2 and the MK3 especially the front lights, grill, bonnet and bumper.
