When it comes to August sales GM has plenty to smile about, but it’s not the only automaker with blockbuster news. Judging by its showroom performance Subaru should be grinning from ear lobe to ear lobe.

Subaru has announced pricing for the 2014 WRX and WRX STI models, with the WRX four-door starting at $26,790 including a $795 destination and delivery fee.

The 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX you’re feasting your eyes on isn’t the same body style that Block used, but the effect is all the same. American Track Truck, Inc. equipped the WRX with a Dominator Track System so it could perform on the snow, slush, ice, mud, swamp, marsh… you get the point. While Subaru has been synonymous with rally racing over the years, this might just be a tad over the top.

Since the inception of the Subaru WRX and STI models, they have thus far been linked to the ho-hum Impreza compact sedan/hatch. While that saved Subaru a lot of money in developing a new platform in the past, and they have done a phenomenal job transforming a boring family car into a supercar hunting sportscar, for some the Impreza link is this car’s only downfall.

Subaru may decide to have a separate WRX line different from the Impreza family in a move to create a more dedicated performance range for the automaker. The new Impreza goes on sale this fall and is expected to be a significantly higher volume model than any of its predecessors. Subaru may chose to separate the WRX and Impreza for the first time in nearly 20 years.

After having just set the Isle of Man TT record, Subaru can now add another to its list after driver David Higgins smashed the official hillclimb record at New England’s highest mountain, Mt. Washington over the weekend.

Subaru has announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement of the Isle of Man TT Races and rather than just sit idly by, the AWD turbo 4-banger brand is looking to participate, running a WRX STI on several timed laps of the famous TT motorcycle course.

Factory Five is a company mainly known for their inexpensive, popular Cobra kit cars, but the company has dabbled in original designs more than a few times. Their GTM supercar is a looker with Corvette power, and a rare beast at that. Now the company is expanding their own designs with a mid-engined convertible under 2,000 lbs, and packing the running gear from a Subaru Impreza WRX.
