The 2014 Volkswagen Jetta has been awarded a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

NHTSA’s new car assessment program provides information on front, side, and rollover crashes. The Jetta’s five-star rating makes it the third VW vehicle to earn the top score, joining the Passat and Beetle coupe.

Some small changes have come to the Jetta in 2014, including a new independent rear-suspension setup along with the addition of a new small 1.8-liter turbocharged engine.
