It appears Volkswagen is still mulling over the idea of a Golf R wagon.

A couple of months ago, AutoGuide.com‘s spy photographers first caught a glimpse of a Golf R wagon variant testing, and this time around, a different prototype has been spied at the Nurburgring. Though on the exterior it looks nearly identical, save the black shade and silver wheels, this prototype features the correct quad exhaust in the rear, just like the production Golf R model.

If the Volkswagen Golf R wagon does make it to production, expect the same 290 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque under the hood as the hatch. Expect it to debut at this year’s Paris Motor Show if it gets green lit, but don’t expect it to be sold in North America.
