Chevrolet just confirmed the ultimate Corvette is coming next week, with a reveal set for June 17.

Key Points

  • Chevrolet will reveal a new high-performance Corvette on June 17, likely an all-wheel-drive hybrid version of the ZR1, previewed with a stylized “X” in the teaser.
  • The model is expected to be called ZR1X, not the long-rumored “Zora,” despite GM holding trademarks for the historic name tied to Corvette’s legacy.
  • Multiple Corvette prototypes, including Z06, ZR1, and rumored hybrid variants, are currently testing at the Nurburgring, fueling speculation that GM is preparing for an official lap record attempt.

The automaker posted a short video across its social media platforms showing the Corvette’s iconic crossed flags logo before transitioning into a stylized “X,” suggesting the next chapter in the car' performance legacy will be all-wheel drive.

No official details were released, but Chevy will show us the long-awaited high-performance hybrid Corvette—expect a version of the ZR1 equipped with the E-Ray's electrified front axle.

We expect the all-wheel-drive ZR1 to wear the ZR1X badge instead of the long-rumored "Zora" name.

Named after Zora Arkus-Duntov, the Corvette's first chief engineer and father of the mid-engine layout, the name holds historical significance and has long been rumored for a future range-topping model. Despite GM securing trademarks for the "Zora" name in multiple countries, our sources indicate GM decided to go in a different direction.

With no official confirmation on the model’s name or specifications, Corvette fans will have to wait until June 17 for answers. Expect it to be insane. A pair of cars are currently testing at the Nurburgring alongside a pair of C8 Corvette Z06s and a pair of C8 Corvette ZR1s. It's thought Chevy could make an official try for the fastest American production car crown.
