Lexus Recalls IS, GS and LS Models for Faulty Engine Valve Springs
After admitting it sold as many as 270,000 vehicles with defective engines, Lexus has now announced it will recall those models, which include 138,000 Lexus IS, GS and LS models in the United States. The issue relates to the possibility that the engines could have been built using faulty valve springs which could result in a poor idle or stalling. Lexus says the likelihood of this happening is 0.2 percent.
Vehicles affected include the 2007-08 GS350 and GS 450h, 2008 GS460, 2006-08 IS350, 2007-08 LS460 and LS460 L, as well as the 2008 LS600h L.
Owners will be contacted by Lexus. Those with questions are asked to call Customer Experience Center at 1-800-255-3987.
