It turns out that marrying stop motion animation and engine mechanics can yield beautiful results as the video below proves.
Thanks to the gruelling effort of one YouTube user, we get to see the process behind taking an old four-cylinder engine apart, cleaning it up, putting it back together and driving away.
Set to “In The Hall Of The Mountain King,” the video took 11 months to complete and shows exactly how complicated an engine is. The clip’s creator started by taking snap shots to remember which part went where, but realized after several photos that the accumulating documentation could serve another purpose.
