It’s becoming harder to believe that the Ford Fiesta ST won’t be making its American debut at the 2012 LA Auto Show, especially now that its specifications have leaked.

The 2014 Ford Fiesta ST will indeed be powered by a 1.6-liter EcoBoost turbocharged engine with 180 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. And similar to the Focus ST, the Fiesta ST will feature the automaker’s ‘Sound Symposer’ system which amplifies the sound produced by the engine.

The front-wheel drive hatch will come with a six-speed manual transmission and will also sport torque-vectoring technology and a three-mode stability control system. It will roll on 17-inch wheels from the factory paired with Bridgestone Potenza tires, handling like a real sports car thanks to a tuned and lowered sport suspension.

Aesthetically, the Fiesta ST will be more sporty and aggressive thanks to a body kit inspired by Ford’s World Rally Championship race car. A rear spoiler, a pair of chrome exhaust tips, and blacked-out headlight surrounds complete the exterior changes.

Seven colors will be offered on the Fiesta ST and we expect pricing to be announced in the near future.
