Volkswagen‘s VR6 powerplant has been extremely popular over the year, and despite its success in the new Passat, Touareg and Porsche‘s Cayenne, VW is considering alternatives to their VR6 for future production vehicles.

The Japanese Earthquake disaster of March 11, 2011, has wreaked havoc all around the world and has affected Volkswagen by interrupting supply of their backup cameras. Consumers that want a rear view camera fitted to their VW may have to wait for shipments to resume.

Volkswagen is planning a coupe and convertible variant of the traditional 4-door Passat sedan/ wagon. This coupe is slated to fit below the Audi A5, as well as the convertible version.

Volkswagen fanatics looking for two-wheeled transportation, your motorcycle has arrived. Long dormant motorcycle brand Horex is being revived by a group of German industrialists, and the new bikes will be powered by a VR6 engine, long a staple of VW’s Golf and Jetta lineup.
