Two of the most reputable manufacturers of vehicle floor mats are WeatherTech and Husky Liners.

Your car’s carpeting faces numerous hazards every day and unless you want to damage your flooring and decrease your resale value, you need floor mats. Floor mats protect your carpets from moisture and other damage from salt, mud, sand, kids, coffee — whatever mess you can think of.

There are many rubber floor mats, carpet mats, and winter floor liners made by a myriad of manufacturers available in the market today.

Two of the most reputable manufacturers of vehicle floor mats are WeatherTech and Husky Liners. We’re going to compare the two companies to see which one is better suited for your needs.

WeatherTech vs Husky Liner Floor Mats

Admittedly, WeatherTech is the more widely known brand for floor mats, but Husky offers similar floorboard protection and quality, often at a lower price. The cost factor is particularly true with Husky’s WeatherBeater and X-Act Contour floor liners, two of its bestselling products. Both of them come built-in with form-fit edges to expertly shield your floor and clothes from the muck and fluids.

Both manufacturers have one featured product in Amazon’s Top 20 best sellers for floor mats and both manufacturers have many different products for almost any car or truck make and model out there and for any user need, whether it be winter protection or just protection from daily use.

Both companies boast the following:

  • Simple Installation: No cutting or drilling required.
  • Available in black, grey, and tan colors.
  • Products are made in the USA.
  • Protects your car's carpets and floorboard from spills and weather.

Details on WeatherTech and Husky Liners

Husky employs both a rubberized thermoplastic and flexible elastomeric material to give you a broad array of options when picking a cargo liner or floor mat. Whether you opt for the suppleness of the X-Act Contour or the sturdy rigidity of the Weatherbeater, Husky can fulfill your needs. These materials are immune to damage from both, harsh chemicals like gasoline as well as extreme temperatures.

WeatherTech's digital-fit premium density Tri-Extruded (HDTE) material provides a robust, rigid core alongside a gripping surface, which minimizes its movement on car’s carpet. Moreover, the trim-to-fit Universal and All-Weather floor mats are engineered with a more pliable thermoplastic material.

Each of Husky Liners customized models uses elevated edges to contain spills while diamond-plate patterns or raised grooves are built to channel fluids into the liner and away from your clothing and carpet. Moreover, stay-put nibs ensure they stay put during transit.

Contrary to its rival, the more conventional All-Weather and Universal mats by WeatherTech use a system of channels to keep fluids from spilling over onto your car carpet.

Husky’s floor mats and liners give you the confidence of a lifetime warranty.

WeatherTech floor liners are shipped with a limited lifetime warranty.

Benefits of WeatherTech DigitalFit Floor Mats

Every WeatherTech product is researched, planned, and manufactured to offer a state of the art style, operative life, and total value. This USA-based establishment has genuinely set the bar high in the aftermarket industry of floor mats for cars, trucks, and vans, as well as trunk and cargo liners.

At the top of WeatherTech’s product list are DigitalFit mats, configured by computer and laser-measured to match the precise specifications of your car’s front and rear rows. The product is crafted from tri-extruded, high-density material, which remains unfazed even in harsh temperatures and is also damage-proof against pets.

Like all of their products, this extreme-duty WeatherTech line offers a limited lifetime warranty and is available in three colors — black, tan, and grey.

Benefits of Husky Liners WeatherBeater Floor Mats

The Kansas-based Husky Liners became a business entity in 1988, with the objective of transforming your car’s floorboard protection. All of its WeatherBeater mats are laser-scanned and engineered much like those of WeatherTech’s — apart from a patented elastomeric material for enhanced stain-resistance and durability.

Husky’s cargo liners are simple to install and easy to clean. Just quickly hose off the Husky liner and get back in action. The company’s full-protection packages are offered in black, tan, and grey, and more importantly, all are backed by a remarkable lifetime warranty.

The visible difference and often the deciding factor between WeatherTech and Husky Liners is that of the price and the warranty. Therefore, with nearly similar features, your primary consideration is the outlay.

Our Final Verdict

We think that Husky Liners offer the same level of quality and features as WeatherTech at a lower price point. Although both companies offer a great lineup of floor mats to protect your car's carpet and flooring, the one you pick will come down to which one fits the measurements of your car. If both offer a floor mat that fits, however, we'd probably pick Husky Liners because of the price advantage.

I had a crew cab 2016 f150 and I purchased a weathertech mat for the rear, it never fit right, always wanted to move and was starting to curl on the edges, I actually ended up super gluing it and stapling it on the edges, it looked like trash. After that I purchased a 2018 F150 crew cab and purchased a husky mat for the back, I had absolutely no issues with it and it fit perfectly and did not move, so I use husky mats exclusively now.

I have bought both brands. Weather-tech has a limited 60 day warranty and HUSKY has a lifetime warranty. Weather-tech floor mats are slippery and they do slide around. And Husky has small knobs on the bottom to keep the floor mat in place. Weather-tech stains easy and is harder to keep clean. Husky keeps is true color and is easy to clean. Weather-tech is more expensive and Husky is less expensive and they do offer discounts and sales a times. Weather-tech lifts up and curls up at the edges, where Husky lays flat to the floor.
