The SR-71 Mustang, a legendary collaboration between Ford gurus Jack Roush and Carroll Shelby will sold for a gag-inducing $375,000.

To be fair, the proceeds of the car went to a children’s foundation, but we would have a hard time swallowing the fact that we just paid Lexus LF-A money for a Mustang. How about a very generous charitable donation and a Shelby GT500 instead?

In any case, we’re happy that the money went to a good cause and that the car’s one-off status will ensure it will be somewhat collectible in years to come. It’s just not how we would spend $375k. Not by a long shot.
