Mercedes-Benz Style has teamed up with Silver Arrows Marine to build an all-new 14-meter-long luxury yacht called the ‘Silver Arrow of the seas’ at the upcoming 2012 Monaco Yacht Show.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen an automaker lend its design experience and style to a luxury yacht. Back in July, British automaker McLaren unveiled its contributions on the UltraLuxum CXL yacht. The Granturismo however, is being built by UK-registered boat-building company Silver Arrows Marine and is expected to his the market next year.

The new yacht will be styled by Mercedes-Benz designers and will be engineered by Silver Arrows Marine. The team has been working jointly since the beginning of the project, with the German automaker undoubtedly lending a huge hand in the interior design of the yacht.

The addition of a yacht in the Mercedes-Benz Style portfolio now gives the German automaker a trifecta of machines in the air, on the ground, and the sea. Last year, the Eurocopter EC145 Mercedes-Benz Style helicopter was developed, and the first of which has been delivered to a customer.

“Giving shape to a boat was an exciting challenge for automotive designers like us” said Gorden Wagener, Head of Design Mercedes-Benz Cars, at the presentation of the yacht’s design in Monaco. “Our task was to explore how to apply the Mercedes-Benz design language to the particular proportions and specific requirements of a boat. We wanted to create something special and what we have come up with is indeed unique. The ‘Silver Arrow of the seas’ embodies pure emotion and stands for luxury, style and pleasure.”
