The 2013 AutoGuide.com Reader’s Choice Sports Car of the Year, as chosen by you, is the Subaru BRZ.

Giving AutoGuide readers and viewers their say to pick the vehicles they think are most deserving in six different categories, the BRZ took top honors in the performance class.

The BRZ beat-out some impressive machines to earn the title, with other nominees including the Porsche 911 and Boxster, the SRT Viper, Mercedes SL and its twin, the Scion FR-S.

AutoGuide editors raved about the BRZ when we tested earlier this year. “It’s not the fastest car I’ve driven this year, not by a long shot, but it is the most engaging car I’ve driven in a very long time,” said Dave Pratte.

Powered by a 200 hp 2.0-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine, the BRZ combines light weight and a low center of gravity to deliver a connected-to-the-road feel, and is priced starting at just $25,495.

Voting for the Reader’s Choice Car of the Year Awards were AutoGuide.com readers and viewers, as well as members of the AutoGuide forum network, which is comprised of over 12 million registered members on 360 car enthusiast forums.
