A recall affecting approximately 100,000 Michelin tires was announced Saturday by the manufacturer.

The affected range of products is spread across three kinds of tires typically used on light trucks and SUVs. They include Latitude Tour, LTX M/S2 and radial LT2 units. Affected tires may have a perforated sidewall, which with a loss of air pressure could cause sudden failure.

Michelin is voluntarily recalling the products after a retailer discovered that some of the tires have holes and can quickly deflate.

The company will notify affected owners and replace the tires free of charge once the campaign begins late this month. Michelin hasn’t announced a specific date, but owners with questions can contact the company by calling (855) 851-4951.
