Volkswagen has identified approximately 430,000 vehicles from the 2016 model year with “implausible” CO2 ratings.

The German automaker released a complete list of all the 2016 vehicles affected, many of which are not sold in the U.S. All of the vehicles involved use TSI or TFSI petrol or diesel engines with 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 or 2.0-liter displacements. These newly recognized models are not part of the 800,000 vehicle VW has already declared as having incorrect CO2 ratings.

The list includes the vehicles such as the Audi A1 and A1 Sportback, Seat Ibiza 5 Türer, the Skoda Fabia and Fabia Combi. From the Volkswagen brand, the Polo, Tiguan, Jetta, Scirocco, Golf Cabriolet, Golf, Golf Variant, Golf Sportsvan, Touran, CC, Passat, Passat Variant, Caddy and T6 are affected.

The vast majority of the vehicles on the list are equipped with diesel engines, but as was previously reported, some models impacted have standard gasoline engines.

According to Volkswagen, discussion with the proper authorities have begun and the next step for the company will be to determine the new CO2 figures for the affected vehicles under the supervision of the German Federal Vehicle and Transport Authority (KBA). Over the coming week, Volkswagen will update its online database with new VIN numbers of the affected 2016 model year vehicles so that customers can identify if their vehicle is affected.
