Yet another recall has been announced over faulty Takata airbags.

This action affects 680,000 Volkswagen vehicles, built between 2006 and 2014. The issue is a driver-side airbag inflator which can explode with too much force, causing metal shrapnel to shoot at the car’s occupants.

Millions of cars worldwide have been recalled over this issue, with at least 10 deaths and hundreds of injuries caused by faulty Takata airbags.

Volkswagen didn’t specifiy which vehicles were affected, saying the owners would be notified by mail. A timeline for when the recall will begin wasn’t provided, though with so many cars affected by the same problem, sourcing the part could take time.
