McLaren Special Operations (MSO) is embracing carbon fiber with its new special edition models.

Only 25 of the new MSO Carbon Series LTs will be built and each one is already spoken for.

Based on the 675LT Spider, the new Carbon Series uses the lightweight material for just about all of its body including the side skirts, side intakes, lower side intakes, rear bodyside lower, rear fenders, rear deck and more. A gloss finish allows the carbon fiber weave to show through on the entire body along with on the retractable roof.

McLaren says that there is 40 percent more carbon fiber parts than the standard car on this “brutal beauty,” though the actual weight reduction was not revealed.

Power still comes from a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 that cranks out 666 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, taking this car up to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and on to 124 mph in 8.1 seconds.

Production of the MSO Carbon Series LT will begin in the fall with the first cars expected to make it to buyers before the end of 2016.
