Following its global debut earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has made its way over to the LA Auto Show, where the Japanese automaker also announced the pricing and packaging of the funky looking compact crossover.

We even drove the all-new vehicle, but driving impressions have been embargoed until the end of this week, so all we can share at the moment are sparse details about this compact crossover.

While enthusiasts will freak out about the use of the Eclipse name on a crossover, you can actually make the argument that this has a few things in common with the brand’s tuner-friendly sport compact.

For example, it comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This powerplant makes a modest 152 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to a CVT for maximum fuel efficiency. The car also comes standard with the brands Super All Wheel Control all-wheel drive.

The Eclipse Cross comes standard with 18-inch wheels to highlight the unique exterior styling. The crossover also features Mitsubishi’s new Dynamic Shield Grille. There’s LED daytime running lights and taillights, including a horizontal lightbar found on the tailgate.

Inside you’ll find a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The crossover can also be equipped with a head-up display and a number of driving assists and safety features. Forward collision warning, blind spot warning and adaptive cruise control are all available. There’s also a 710 watt Rockford Fosgate sound system available.

Starting at $23,295 for the base ES and buyers can opt up to a LE, SE or SEL model for more equipment and content. Production starts in January 2018 and you can expect the car to hit dealerships in March.
