Jiffy Lube App Puts Car Care at Your Fingertips
We’ve all been there – standing in front of a parking lot attendant, trying to remember our license plate number, but for whatever reason, we just can’t think of what it is. Or being stuck on the side of the road with a dead battery, not sure what to do next. When these headaches happen, just use the Jiffy Lube app to get you out of that sticky situation.
New Honda Jazz IPhone App Let's You 'Catch' Characters From a TV Commercial [video]
You won’t want to take a bathroom break during this commercial. Honda has revolutionized the way we watch commercials, whether they be on TV, mobile phone or the Internet by combining iPhone Apps and traditional advertisements.
To help launch the revised Honda Jazz (Fit in the U.S.), the automaker has created a new interactive app allows iPhone users to virtually catch animated characters as they appear on screen in their new TV advert “This Unpredictable Life”. Once the character has been captured, just drop them into your phone (pretty much how you’d use a PS3 Move or Nintendo wii motion-controller).
This is the first time screen-hopping technology is being used in a commercial. To play along, you can download the app, called “Honda Jazz – This Unpredictable Life” for free from Apple’s iTunes Store. After you’ve downloaded the app, just watch the commercial on your TV, PC or another iPhone. With it, you can collect up to four characters and three mystery objects. You can even interact with the animated stars of the film and bring them to life on your cell phone.
The commercial will be playing in the UK, so If you’ve downloaded the app, let us know how you like it in the comment section below and see

Mobil 1 Open Road App Helps You Plan the Perfect Trip
If you’re looking to get more out of your road trip we’ve got an app for you – the Mobil 1 Open Road app. A great free app that let’s you explore great roads and attractions, it will also provide helpful car care advice.
Let’s just say you are planning a road trip. The Mobil 1 Open Road app makes it easy to plan the whole trip, from start to finish. Just pick a category from the drop-down list (like kids’ day out, museums and restaurants) and enter how far you want to drive. This app will show you how to get there and what attractions you should stop at along the way.
Unfortunately, right now Mobil 1 only offers the App in jolly old Great Britain. That being said, if you’re from the UK, or taking a trip to do some driving on the wrong side of the road, the Mobil 1 App will give you the Top 10 Great British Drives to explore, based on what users have been saying about them. It really takes the stress out of planning a road trip, and isn’t the purpose of a trip supposed to be about relaxation?
But the good times don’t stop there. The Mobil 1 Open Road app also has a car care section that tells you when to check your oil, how to check your oil and why to check your oil.
Watch the video after the jump to see it in action, and if you live in the UK, you can download it for free at the iTunes store.
Here’s hoping they’ll make the Mobil 1 Open Road App available in North America soon.

Free Waze App Offers Drivers Social Navigation
We’ve all heard of social media, but how about social navigation? Waze is the first self-described “social navigation” app that uses a community of users to build and confirm mapping based on U.S. government map databases. This community also reports on things like traffic jams and accidents, and the location of speed cams and police activity.
