The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is getting stern with Chrysler.

Chrysler has been called into question over the timeliness of a Jeep recall, and today the brand released a statement to clear things up. 

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is demanding answers from Jeep regarding the timeliness of a recall that affects 1.56 million older Jeep SUVs.

After two weeks of waiting, Chrysler has agreed to comply with a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) request to recall about 2.7-million Jeep SUVs. 

A NHTSA investigation into fires caused by rear-collision in Jeep vehicles is expanding to include Jeep Cherokee, and  Liberty models.
