Disney Teases 'Cars' Ride Through Radiator Springs – Video

Disney’s Pixar has a magical way of not only touching the hearts of children, but also the hearts of adults through their movies. The movie Cars and its sequel Cars 2 are of course our favorites, and Disney California Adventure is adding a Cars-themed ride to their amusement park.

The attraction Cars Land will open to the public on June 15th, but the team at the amusement park is hard at work testing the Radiator Springs Racers seven days a week, mostly at night. But Disney decided to release a sneak preview of what we can expect when the ride goes live, and it appears they’ve done a fantastic job bringing Radiator Springs to life.

Clearly this will be one of their most heavily anticipated openings for both children and adults, considering how successful the Cars franchise has become over the years.

Watch the test run through Cars Land after the break.

Disney for Adults: Pilot Your Dream Car at the Exotic Driving Experience

The latest attraction at Walt Disney World isn’t based on a cartoon character, nor is it made of animatronics. It will, however, bring out the kid in you – in an adult sort of way. And the best part? It’s shiny, Italian and can go 200 mph.

OK, so you don’t actually go 200 mph, but piloting an exotic sports car on a race track will easily have you testing the car’s capabilities – not to mention your own.

Designed as the ultimate attraction for adults at Disney, the Exotic Driving Experience can get you behind the wheel of a pricey German or Italian sports car starting at as little as just $199. The “ride” is an addition to the long-standing Richard Petty Driving Experience, and is held at the Walt Disney World Speedway – though only makes partial use of the banked tri-oval. Using one of those banked bends, the rest of the course makes use of a large-scale, though rather technical, slalom running through the track’s infield.

Audi just got a lot more popular with women, because it’s just been announced that Hugh Jackman is the automaker’s newest Brand Ambassador.

Joining other famous faces, such as Justin Timberlake and Naomi Watts, the announcement was made at Jackman’s Australian premiere of Disney’s Real Steel. And the Aussie actor started the new partnership off in style, arriving at the event in an Audi R8 Spyder supercar.

For all you women out there, it means that the handsome actor could be making an appearance at an auto show near you… but you can tell your husband the reason you want to go to the car show is to spend more quality time with him.

Talking Lightning McQueen Car Toy is a Bit Creepy

With any Disney movie comes an onslaught of merchandise to go along with the release, and the upcoming Cars 2 film is no exception.

Of course, the main character, Lightning McQueen, voiced by Owen Wilson, is front and center in this new push of toys. We’re not sure if your kids will be amazed or freaked out by the 1:55 scale car that talks, wobbles and shakes. What’s different about this toy is that its mouth actually moves when it talks, while his eyes move side to side. Just pat him on the head and he’ll always have something witty to say.

This toy also drives itself. He can go around in circles, backward and forward, all while chatting away. We’re not sure if this is pretty cool or gives us Christine-esque heebie jeebies. We may need an office full of people around before we play with this car. You can watch him in action after the jump. And let us know – does it give you the creeps or are we just wusses?
