With the recent announcement of the new 2011 CL550 and its 4.7-liter twin-turbo V8, we can now confirm via Mercedes-Benz‘s German website that the CL63 will come with the company’s latest twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8.

The website lists the engine’s output at 536-hp, the same amount Mercedes claimed the engine could produce when it released specs on the engine several weeks back. That being said, torque should be rated at 590 ft-lbs. Mercedes will also offer an AMG Performance Package bumping power to 563-hp and 664 ft-lbs of torque.

In addition, the 2011 CL63 will do away with the old 7G-Tronic transmission in favor of the new 7-speed MCT Speedshift transmission.

As for the CL65, it also gets updates for 2011, but only mild ones in an effort to help set it apart from the CL600 and CL63. That being said it gets a slight jump from 604-hp to 621-hp.
