Electric Motorcycle Rider Killed in Collision With a Prius

We don’t mean to speak ill of the dead, but this story is so absurd and pseudo-ironic it’s hard not to view it in that light. Matthew Dieckmann, a California entrepreneur who was helping to develop electric racing motorcycles was killed when the electric motorcycle he was riding collided… with a Toyota Prius. (Honest… we couldn’t make this up).

Dieckmann, who founded Electric Race Bikes, allegedly hit the passenger side of the Prius and was killed instantly. The Prius driver was unharmed. It’s always tragic to see someone so young pass away, especially someone with a vision and a commitment to making the world a better place. Our condolences to Dieckmann’s family, friends and colleagues.

I would really like some more details, like, was the old man doing a left-turner, missed a stop sign...was the biker speeding and riding recklessly... This is sad.
