It was supposed to arrive at the Paris Auto Show, but never did. Still, rumors persist and the latest spy photos certainly seem to indicate that Audi is pushing ahead with plans to deliver an RS-badged high-performance version of the A3 hatch.

While new photos of the hotted-up hatch testing have surfaced, more important shots have been snapped of several RS3 badged parts. One includes a speedometer that goes all the way to 310 km/h (192 mph), indicating the much more potent engine under the hood. Another shows an RS3-badged steering wheel, complete with paddle shifters, indicating the RS3 will get Audi’s 7-speed S tronic dual clutch gearbox. That transmission is believed to be mated to the same turbocharged 2.5-liter 5-cylinder as found in the TT-RS making a solid 345-hp.

Previous reports have indicated that like BMW’s 1 Seires M Coupe, the Audi RS3 will only be available in a limited quantity of 2,700 units.

Look for the RS3 to debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March.
