Back in February, patent drawings of a four-door Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG model leaked onto the Internet, raising some curious eyebrows among auto enthusiasts.

It was indeed strange, and for good reason, but now the German automaker wants to put to rest any speculation that a four-door SLS AMG should ever hit our showrooms. Ola Källenius, CEO of AMG, confirmed recently in an interview with Autovisie that there are no plans to develop a four-door SLS AMG model, and that the leaked drawings were of an old concept. The combination of gullwing doors with a pair of rear-hinged demi doors came up during the development of the current SLS AMG model, but won’t be anything we’ll see anytime soon, or ever.
