For the 2013 model year, Lotus will be adding a six-speed automatic option to its Evora S model when it becomes available starting this October.

Up until now, only the naturally aspirated Evora model was available with an automatic transmission; but now those that wish to take part in the supercharged fun can also opt for the automaker’s Intelligent Precision Shift transmission.

Four settings will be available on the automatic sports car: a fully automatic mode, a manual mode with paddle-shift gear changes, fully automatic sport mode with increased throttle response, shorter shift times, longer gears, while the manual sport mode gives the driver full control of the transmission through the paddle shifters.

We expect pricing for the automatic transmission option on the Evora S to be announced closer to its release.
