Audi has become the new automobile supplier of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and will remain so until the end of 2016.

The Volkswagen Group has been long-time supporters of the Olympic Games, acting as the official vehicle of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and will once again assume the role for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi next year. Audi will also be a partner at the National Olympic Committees in Germany, Finland, Russia, and Switzerland.

The German automaker will be providing more than 40 cars to the IOC with models through its entire range. It will also supply vehicles in support of international events like the IOC session in Buenos Aires this September.

“Through our cooperation with the IOC as the top-level global organization we aim to link our brand even closer with international sport,” says Luca de Meo, member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG for Marketing and Sales. “We’re going to shape many exciting joint projects in the future.”
