Just when you thought Groupon was reserved for bargain dining, a German dealership is turning to the site to offer a discount on a 2013 Ford Fiesta.

As car sales continue to struggle in Europe, AK Autosport Koeln GmbH in Cologne, Germany, is offering a $130 (99 euros) Groupon voucher that will knock off nearly $7,175 (5,450 euros) off the buying price of a Fiesta. That’s a savings of over 30 percent.

During the first quarter of 2013, car sales in Germany dropped 13 percent, which is a significant decrease from last year’s 2 percent. According to the Center for Automotive Research at the University of Duisburg-Essen, auto discounts in Germany climbed to their highest level in seven years this month.

“At the moment, nothing points to an easing of the discount situation,” said Ferdinand Dudenhoeffer, the center’s director. “Cars that couldn’t be sold in southern Europe are being pushed to Germany.”
