For Ian Cook, there was only one way to remember Allan Simonsen, 34, who died during the 24 Hours at Le Mans last weekend.

Known for painting solely using radio-controlled cars, car tires and toy car wheels, Cook didn’t waste any time in creating a tribute piece for dead race car driver. Simonsen died after losing control of the number 95 Vantage GTE early during the race. His death was the first at the race since 1997.

The team decided to continue running the race in a tribute to Simonsen.

What Cook plans to do with the painting is still unclear.
