Lexus Shows How the LF-CC Concept Inspired the 2014 IS 350 F Sport

The redesigned 2014 Lexus IS might just seem like a natural evolution, but it was heavily influenced by the LF-CC concept which debuted at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The Japanese automaker took its LF-CC concept and put it side-by-side with its 2014 IS sedan for some beauty shots. The photos were taken for the Australian International Design Awards, which partnered with Lexus Australia last month.
It’s easy to notice the heavy influences the LF-CC concept had on the 2014 IS when we see them both in the same frame. The massive front spindle grille, split-headlight design and large lower air inlets all carried over to the production model. But the concept still features futuristic styling that typically doesn’t find their way onto production models. The trio of LED headlights for example along with the sleek mirrors of the concept may look stylish, but aren’t practical.

But the best part of seeing the LF-CC concept with the IS 350 F Sport is what we can expect when the IS coupe inevitably makes it debut. Though the Japanese automaker hasn’t confirmed its existence, it’s hard to imagine that Lexus won’t build a formidable fighter to the BMW 4 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe.
